Trips & Adventures
Outdoor Adventures provides a variety of outdoor trips, from day trips/clinics to weekend and week adventures, to the University of Utah community. Participants can expect to see activities such as rock climbing, canyoneering, mountain biking, backpacking, hiking, cross-country skiing, backcountry touring, ice climbing, whitewater rafting/kayaking, flatwater trips such as canoeing or SUPing, and much more. The trip leaders are in constant training to provide a safe and positive learning environment in which participants can develop their outdoor skills.
The following information and trips are only for University of Utah students, faculty, staff, CRS members, and their guests. Trips are not available to the general public. Trips are subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances including, but not limited to, permits and weather.

|9/25||Timpanogos Day Hike||Join us on one of the top hikes in the Wasatch: Mt. Timpanogos. This hike is a long one, but it is well worth the trek to the summit. Come prepared for an adventure! Trip includes leadership, transportation, a snack, and equipment. Participants should be comfortable with rugged trail hiking over long distances.||12||$15|
|9/26||Weber River Float||Let's go paddle the Weber River! We will paddle inflatable kayaks along this class 1–2 stretch of river. Come prepared to get wet. Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, a water bottle, and a change of clothes for the drive home. Trip includes leadership, transportation, a snack, and equipment. Participants should be able to swim and feel comfortable in moving water.||12||$40|
|10/2||Bike the Jordan River Parkway||The Jordan River Parkway spans 45 miles of bike path winding its way parallel to the Jordan River. Remove yourself from the busy day-to-day of the city and enjoy the parkway and all of its lush greenery. This relaxed ride will cover some portion of the parkway. Trip includes leadership, transportation, a snack, and equipment. Participants should know how to ride a bike and be comfortable riding for extended periods of time.||12||$30|
|Intro to Rock Climbing Series||Join us in Big Cottonwood Canyon for a beginner 101 rock climbing outing. We'll spend the day on the cliffs where some of the best rock climbing is found. Trip includes leadership, transportation, a snack, and equipment. Open to all levels; no experience is necessary.||12||$40|
Our programs are available to all current University of Utah Students, Faculty, Staff, Campus Rec Member, and their guests. These trips are not open to the General Public, unless they qualify as a guest.

Cooperative Adventure trips are planned and coordinated by Outdoor Adventures trip leaders. Trip costs are shared equally by all participants. All group planning, leadership and risks are shared by all participants equally. Because Outdoor Adventures trips are exciting, physically demanding, and take place in an environment over which we have no control, they can be potentially dangerous. As a participant on a Cooperative Adventure Trip, you must personally accept these conditions and assume full responsibility for your own safety and well-being. Trip size is limited, and registration plus payment is on a first come, first served basis. A non-refundable deposit is required when you sign up to secure a spot for you. Each multi-day trip has a pre-trip meeting, and your attendance is strongly recommended.
University of Utah policies prohibit alcohol, controlled substances, and firearms. These items are not permitted on any OA Adventure. Participants are not required to have health insurance, but it is strongly encouraged.
