We are the Utah Women’s Lacrosse Club team. In the time of our existence, we have been very successful and have represented the University of Utah with class and dedication. Our 2015 season ended on a high note, with our players taking home 2nd place at the WCLA Division II National Tournament; as well as athletic and academic awards from several of our athletes.

Utah Women’s Lacrosse opens up the doors for female students to represent the University by competing at a collegiate level with the added freedom of experiencing all aspects of college life. Our club has the best facilities available: both indoor and outdoor full size turf fields, weight training room, full-time coaches, athletic trainers, a faculty advisor, and a club sports director. In addition to team fees, we receive additional funding from the University, fundraisers, and the Ute Women’s Lacrosse non-profit organization. Utah Women’s Lacrosse goes above and beyond to give its players the best possible experience both on the field and in the classroom.

On average we have played 25 games per season, more than any other team in the WCLA. These games take place at tournaments across the country, as well as our home field.

The University of Utah has a proud tradition of rugby dating back to the 1970’s.  Since 2002, Utah has reached the final four in the national championship four times, and the elite eight every year but one. We continue that tradition today, with both 7’s and 15’s competing at the elite levels against such rugby powerhouses as Cal Berkeley and BYU.  The 2015 season concluded with us taking 4th place nationally in the 7’s National Championship and finishing 6th nationally in 15’s as National Tournament Semi-Finalists.  In 2011 we took the Bronze Medal in the 7’s National Tournament and were USA Rugby National Tournament Semi-Finalists in the same year.  2010 gave us a crown jewel of being the 7’s National Champions.  If you are interested in adding your rugby talents to this storied group, learning to play rugby or are anywhere in between, there is a place for you with us.
