Creative Wellness Ideas
While mindfulness and meditation has seen a surge in popularity, sometimes sitting
in a quiet place and clearing your mind might not be for everyone. Creative wellness
is a great alternative to traditional meditation techniques, and can give you very
similar outcomes such as increased happiness, decreased stress, and better thought
processing. I’ve put together a list of some fun crafts and creative wellness projects
you can do that require just a few materials to get started.
Coloring
If you have access to a printer and some colored pencils or crayons, a simple Google search will give you thousands of options of free downloadable coloring pages! Here’s a cute one from Crayola that encompasses Utah’s nickname as the Beehive State:
Or, you can download a color-by-number app on your smartphone like the Happy Color TM – Paint by Number app that includes 6,000 free coloring pages.
Paper Crafts
Scrapbooking is probably what comes to mind when you think of crafting with paper,
but here is a fun video that teaches you how to make your own Paper Succulent Plants. This is especially
helpful if you don’t necessarily have a green thumb like me!
